Utilia Amaral is a respected leader within the renewable energy industry who has built a professional career that spans more than 20 years and includes executive-level positions in the private sector, the not-for-profit sector and as a senior ministerial advisor serving in government.
She is currently the Founder and CEO of Connected2Solutions, an independent consultancy that has attracted and retained leading edge clients like Google’s Nest Labs and Stem (a behind-the-meter energy storage provider). Previously, she served as the Chair of the Canadian Solar Industries Association and was the Manager Director of Strategic Affairs for SunEdison Canada.
Utilia has excelled at developing strong relationships with governments and industry partners in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia and Manitoba. Her efforts have contributed to two provincial governments deciding to provide certainty, predictability and sustainability to the renewable energy industry by continuing vital programs and policies.
She obtained her BAA in Urban and Regional Planning from Ryerson University and her Master of Science in Economics of Urbanization from University College in London. She also recently completed the requirements for the Masters of Business Administration at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management.
Today, Utilia lives in Vaughan with her husband and their two young daughters.
