Ahmed is an analyst at Dunsky Energy Consulting, where he supports utilities, governments, corporations and non-profits across Canada and the U.S. with the design, modeling, and evaluation of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable mobility programs and policies. Ahmed has led and contributed to several distributed solar studies for Dunsky’s clients in Ontario, Alberta and New York among numerous others, including technical potential assessments, market adoption forecasts, incentive and financing program design, value of solar studies, and assessment of grid impacts. On the financing side, he has supported the development and evaluation of several energy efficiency and renewable energy financing programs for the residential and commercial segments including Loan Loss Reserves (LLR), Loan Guarantee, On-Bill Financing (OBF) and Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) programs across North America. Ahmed holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from McGill University and a Master’s degree in energy science from ETH Zurich, Switzerland. He was also a member of the Public Policy Forum’s Your Energy Future fellowship program in 2017/18, where he traveled across the country along with 15 fellows to engage and consult with key stakeholders and provide policy recommendations to the federal government on Canada’s proposed energy strategy.
