How can industry and government reduce red tape, remove market barriers, streamline regulations and pass along savings to customers?
The hard costs of solar technologies have declined rapidly. However, soft costs in Ontario remain high and continue to be a deterrent to the widespread adoption of solar energy across the province. With no direct financial incentives or subsidies expected in Ontario, it is crucial that industry work with utilities, government and other energy stakeholders to identify and remove market barriers, streamline regulations and effectively reduce the red tape associated with solar development. Based on the CanSIA ASTRO soft cost survey, this session will identify market obstacles and discuss the best approach to remove these barriers and drive down costs, making solar accessible to more Ontarians.
